Outfit Post: New Retro Hair and Mid Century Shirts

I like to mix Mid Century Modern prints with newer contemporary separates sometimes, such as my 'Splendid' wrap shirt in Abstract I got for Christmas from my mum, made by Lady K Loves (Kessie is a Bristol based retro repro designer and has a great little shop!), mixed with my Skort from Topshop and paired with vintage Bally shoes I found in a charity shop and a vintage beaded handbag I got in a junk shop at home. My bamboo hoop earrings are by Bow & Crossbones.

Welcome to my non-50's living room. I am living in a shared house so these are not mine..I don't own a house yet (I am only 22!)

I hope you enjoyed this look, and of course, I am wearing tights! It is pretty cold out now of course!

I also hope you like my new 'do', I wanted a mixture of brown and blonde, which I am calling Bronde! I feel much more like 'me' again being a little darker!

Pin Curls & Gingham

Hi everyone! It's sooo super sunny today. I had my hair done yesterday, I've decided to give it a rest from bleaching and although I'm not completely happy with the colour it is at the moment, a dark gold blonde, it's ok for now. I think I'll have a few highlights the next time I see my hairdresser just so it frames my face more. I was going for more of the Victoria's Secret's sort of gold blondes but it's ended up quite one-tone. I think I need more than one sitting. However it was about three different colours, bleached to death and big roots before so major kudos to my amazing hairdresser for sorting that out!!!!!

Here is my look for the day. It's lovely and sunny by the coast today so I'm squinting away here, but I'm really enjoying this blue faux leather skirt from Zara with my gingham bralet at the moment.

Harlequin Girl

Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying good weather. I just realised I always seem to be in my Sophia sandals, but I love them, and also half of my shoes are still in London. I collected (rescued) a couple of pairs from my sisters balcony in the week but there's only so much a suitcase can hold!

Been working hard on my vintage magazine Jitterbox this week, sorting out the menswear shoot, graphic layouts and had tutorials with my university teachers about the magazines direction and how I want to present it in my final show. I found out I go to Romania for an adventure holiday when my show is unfortunately, but my work will still be on display in London (probably East), and I shall leave details so if you wish to, you can go view it when it's up!

Here is my outfit of the day. We have had some beautiful sunshine at the South Coast today but the weather cracked earlier and my hair got a bit soggy and less quiff-like!

Leopard Print and Roll necks

Hi everyone! I made the transition from moving out of my London pad back to the family home in Somerset on Thursday (financial reasons - planning on using these few months of no rent to save up for trips abroad so far!).

I don't have to travel back to London for my lessons at uni this week because it's Easter. Hope you all had a great Easter Sunday. As for the chocolate egg tradition, usually I would get loads of easter eggs but people must have realised I'm watching my weight as i only received one this year! One is enough really, I am the biggest "chocoholic" ever.

Hope you enjoy todays outfit! Underneath my roll neck jumper I wore this little Strappy Seam Crop Top from Topshop, totally gone braless today. Slight mess up in London, half the stuff I had to leave at my sisters place and pick up later consisted of most of my black/strapless bras so whatever I'm au natural ;).

Everything else I'm wearing is from Whistles, apart from my Rocket Originals shoes.

Because I worked for Whistles recently, I really accumulated a wardrobe full of Whistles clothing, which I'm not moaning about because the brand is great and they really nail chic for the modern city woman.

Unfortunately my skirt is AW/13 and came out just before the Christmas break so you might have a hard time finding it in store as they have very limited stock. The good news is, there are similar styles of skirts like this they keep bringing out, and you can find it for around £95.00.

My silk roll neck, you will be pleased to know has gone down in the sale to £45.00.

My metallic bag/cluch is also Whistles, but the rose/gold is sold out. However, the Rivington Chain Clutch can be found in multiple different colours in store, for example this lovely bright orange.

Mid Century Market Shopping

Today I went to Bethan's (Bettina Scarlett's) mid-century market at the Hammersmith Club with my friend and burlesque dancer Isabelle L'Amour.

You can catch the next market on the 16th August 10:30am - 4pm also at the Hammersmith club!

The stalls were really awesome and I bought a few things from You're naked without one and Bow & Crossbones which I might do a haul on. I saw a great original 1950's lurex two piece suit from a vintage stall which I nearly bought but I had to stop myself because I've already purchased too many clothes this month, and I'm about to move house, so got to look after those pennies (and pack everything).

This was my outfit today, taken when I came home so the lighting is a bit off I'm afraid there wasn't much time to do it this morning.

My top is from vintage reproduction brand Freddies of Pinewood

My trousers are actually Primark (blushes), they are more or less a copy of the Topshop Joni jeans and have so much stretch. They hold me in the right places and are a great high waisted everyday jean, for half the price of Topshop! I love a good bargain.

My shoes are a copy of a 50's sandal. You can find them at Rocket Originals.

My jacket and bag are both vintage, both found in charity shops! I believe the jacket to be late 50's or early 60's as the buttons are very atomic styled, of the era, there are no labels and most of the interior looks hand-stitched. It looks to be a one off. I am not sure how old the bag is, it's a typical granny-style bag and I wear it to death!

My earrings are Topshop a few months back so not sure if they are still around!
